It is difficult to describe a place like Cortina without sounding trite.
And it is even more difficult for me who was born there and spent her childhood there, a time of pure joy with my grandparents, in an atmosphere which was just perfect for a child.
Cortina was often described as "the most beautiful place on Eart" by writers, painters and great historical and cultural personalities, from Ernest Hemingway to journalist Indro Montantelli.
Cortina is called "Queen of Dolomites" or "Pearl of Dolomites" and it is not by coincidence that its mountains have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Ampezzo valley is wide and bathed in sunlight, a wonderful place all year round. It is also worth reminding that Cortina is also a glamour spot: on both sides of the Corso (High Street) the most important designer's boutiques give that touch of elegance that makes Cortina so unique among Italy's holiday destinations.
So why not get married in Cortina?
A different kind of wedding: either a pristine snow field, or a wood, or green pasture can be the backdrop of your big moment.
In Cortina you can celebrate your wedding in the local Sala Consiliare (Council Chamber), or in other enchanting locations. Both ceremony and reception can be organized in the same location, thus avoiding the hassle of moving from one place to another.
It will be my task to suggest the best vendors, suitable for the wedding you are dreaming about.
